Hotels

A quota of rooms has been reserved for the Arctic Coast Guard Seminar participants in the city centre and close to the conference venue.

The reservations will be made on “first come, first served” basis. The hotel quotas are valid until one month before the conference. After that, we cannot guarantee the availability of the hotel rooms but will assist you in finding accommodation. The hotel fees include breakfast, service and VAT. All hotel fees are payable directly to the hotels.


Centro Hotel
Yliopistonkatu 12a, 20100 Turku

Centro is centrally located, close to the Market Square, but away from the hubbub of the city, in an inner courtyard. Simple, modern hotel with a personal touch. Comfortable rooms, with wood floors, shower, hairdryer and cable television.

Scandic Julia
Eerikinkatu 4, 20100 Turku

Scandic Julia is a modern, recently renovated hotel in the centre of Turku, near shopping streets and the River Aurajoki. Vähätori, the new culinary centre of Turku with its restaurants and interior design stores, is just a short walk away. When staying in Julia, you will have full access to the hotel gym and sauna. The hotel has air-conditioned and comfortable hotel rooms and a bistro-style restaurant. There is a heated indoor parking garage located next to the hotel, and it has a charging point for electric cars. Guests at Julia always have access to free WiFi in their room and throughout the hotel’s public areas.

Solo Sokos Hotel Turku Seurahuone

Sokos Hotel Turun Seurahuone is located just a few blocks from the Market Square and from the lively Aurajoki river banks. The true classic design by Turku-based architects in the 1920s is being modernized and will be re-opened in the beginning of 2019. For more information please visit the hotel website.

Room reservation and cancellation conditions:

Reserved room will be held until 6 pm on the day of arrival. The hotel is entitled to give the room to another guest after 6 pm. If you plan to arrive after 6 p.m., kindly send your credit card information through our Secured mail system to Aboa Congress and Event Services to ensure that the room will be held until your arrival. You can fill in the information on the credit card authorisation form and attach it to the secured email. Note that the hotel will charge your card only in case of late cancellation or no-show.

A reserved room may be cancelled free of charge 2 weeks before the arrival (except in case of illness documented with a doctor’s note). The hotel has the right to charge the guest for cancellations made later than 2 weeks before arrival or no-shows

Travelling

Turku Airport

Turku has an international airport and it is easy to reach by air via Helsinki, Stockholm, Riga, and Gdansk. From Turku airport, there is a regular bus to city center (distance approx. 8 km), bus line no 1 which runs about every 20 minutes. Tickets à 3 euro can be bought from the driver (cash, preferably coins).
A taxi ride to the center of Turku will cost around 20 euros. All taxis accept credit/debit cards. Taxi in Turku You can reserve a taxi at +358 2 10041. There are several taxi stands in the City center.

Helsinki Airport

If you fly to Helsinki, from Helsinki-Vantaa airport there is a bus to Turku operated by Expressbus (travel time 2-2.5 hours, departures about every hour). Another option is to take the new Ring Rail Line from the airport to Helsinki, to Pasila station, and change in Pasila to a train to Turku. At daytime, the Ring Rail Line trains between the airport and Helsinki run at ten-minute intervals at peak hours and the trip takes 22 minutes. Trains to Turku depart about every hour (between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m.). The trip to Turku from the Helsinki-Pasila station takes about 2 hours.

Ferry

From Stockholm, you may choose to travel to Turku on a ferry through one of the most beautiful archipelagos in the world. Daily connections between Stockholm and Turku are operated by Tallink Silja and Viking Line. The ferry takes about 10 hrs.
